Don’t Just Work...Network

The adage about "who you know” being more important than "what you know” still holds true in the modern business world. Networking and the open exchange of ideas can be vital in finding new ways to meet the rapid-fire changes in the current economy.

The Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM) was originally formed in 1967 and for nearly fifty years has provided development professionals like you with a forum to exchange information to help you stay abreast of current economic development strategies and practices. EDAM serves as a key conduit between the state’s best and brightest people to promote economic growth in every corner of the state.

EDAM advances the profession of economic development through education, leadership, legislative initiatives, monitoring of best practices, and networking. Whether you are a seasoned professional or someone new to the field, EDAM will provide you with the resources you need to succeed.

In addition to the Bronze benefits, Silver Medalists receive a booth at one of the conferences. Gold members have the special benefits of having a table at events and an article in the Developer Newsletter in addition to the Silver benefits.

Enhanced Interaction

The EDAM Web site, www.edam.org, is continually improved to strengthen the network among members. The site acts as a hub for those involved with economic development to find one another, discuss important issues and hear about events.

Faced with a business challenge and thinking that you’re alone? The EDAM Web site’s members-only features include a place for the open exchange of ideas and the pooling of knowledge needed to meet such hurdles and clear them in stride.

EDAM has a strong presence at the Minnesota Legislature, spearheaded by volunteers and executed with the assistance of a professional lobbyist. An annual issue briefing paper and up-to-the minute legislative information are available to EDAM members.
