Emerging Professionals
The Emerging Professionals Committee is comprised of economic development professionals with a variety of backgrounds, levels of education, and job history, with 10 years or less experience in the economic development field. Knowing the importance of networking and the challenges and unanswered questions those new to the industry have when entering the workforce, this group acts as an agent to provide advice, job seeking resources and additional education opportunities and trainings.
Enhanced EP Interaction
EDAM Emerging Professionals would like to create a strong partnership with students and universities to help bridge the transition from student/newcomer to economic development professional. It’s vital to utilize and retain new talent now, and for generations to come. Having been in your shoes and faced similar challenges not that long ago, we understand how it feels when first entering the economic development field. Forming relationships with existing emerging professionals makes this transition easier. We know that becoming a part of a solid networking group is step one in launching a successful career. We welcome students, recent graduates/practitioners, those just entering the field, and those new to Minnesota or the Twin Cities.
