Community economics educators partner with community members to lead economic transformation. Our goal is to help communities create a positive economic climate. 

A primary focus area for this educator position will be on using economic impact assessments and related data to assist local communities in guiding economic change. This position, through collaboration with an Extension specialist, will expand on a successful economic impact program, particularly by developing engagement models tailored for city and county governments. This role will involve in-person and virtual teaching, conducting community-based research, and community coaching. 

Team members represent the Department of Community Development in different regions of the state. We are a highly collaborative team, connecting via technology. Our team is a high impact and high-performance group and a leader in the field of community development. The team partners with and reports to the Community Development program leader for Community Economics. This educator will be in the Rochester Regional Extension office and will primarily serve a region of 16 counties in southeast Minnesota. Nearly every community is within 100 miles of Rochester. Many of the educator responsibilities are conducted in the surrounding cities, so the regional office space is available for planning time, high-speed internet, and connecting with other Extension staff who serve this area. Hybrid office arrangements are possible, but this is not a fully remote position. Travel to partnering communities is expected and compensated. 
Required Qualifications: 

Master's degree at time of appointment. One year of experience in  a related field.
