The Twin Cities’ suburbs now host the majority of businesses and jobs in the MSP metro area. And so much more; these are NOT your grandparents’ suburbs. Suburban success with business retention and expansion is important to Minnesota. Therefore, the focus of University of Minnesota Extension’s BRE course, October 22-23, will be BRE in the suburbs. However, all economic & community developers and planners are welcome regardless of your community’s location or size.

Economic development efforts rely on action from many community players. UofM Extension provides a framework that helps community and economic development decisions to move forward. Many professionals from Minnesota and across North America have taken our BRE course and have implemented BRE initiatives. This includes over a dozen suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul., most recently in Cottage Grove[i]

The course happens October 22-23rd at the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul campus

After completing Extension’s BRE course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the three major elements of the BRE process
  • Plan and organize a BRE initiative that fits your community
  • Access BRE resources and networks

We hope you or your team will join us. Register here.

Best regards,

Michael Darger & John Bennett, co-instructors
