Advocacy 2.0

computer office coffeeTuesday, February 15
12:00 - 1:00 pm

With public access to the Minnesota State Capitol limited, and with much of the work of the legislature happening virtually, it can be difficult to know how to effectively engage with lawmakers. Join us for an in-depth discussion on how to overcome the challenges of this new digital era and advocate for the issues and projects that are important to your community.

At the event, Sam Richie and Shannon Mitchell, the lobbyists representing EDAM, will share the advocacy best practices they have learned since 2020. Topics will include:
  • How to best communicate with your legislators when you can’t visit in person
  • Steps you can take to help with advocacy efforts if your board won’t allow you to directly lobby
  • What to do in the “off-season” to continue advocacy efforts

COST

EDAM members: $10
Non-members: $20
