This is a part-time, W-2, contracted position. The schedule consists of 8 days per month, each consisting of eight (8), one-hour sessions per day, which will be scheduled sometime during the normal workweek (Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays), between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform speech language pathology services, within clinical guidelines, to include screening, formal evaluations, and treatment for speech, swallowing, language, voice and cognitive-communication disorders. The contractor shall complete swallow evaluations such as Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES).
Work with a great deal of independence, receiving guidance from the Clinical Director, Health Service Administrator, and Rehab Services Director.
Evaluates and consults with physicians on the diagnosis, treatment and management of all speech language pathology needs.
Document services and treatments in Bureau Electronic Medical Record.
Maintain clinical competency by attending local training and by completion of continuing education courses as require by the Minnesota Board of Medical.
Conform to all BOP policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines as applicable to Speech Therapy services.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to speech and swallowing disorders.
- Experience in acute care or critical care settings is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in evaluating and treating patients with various communication disorders.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. |
