About the Job
The Economic Development Specialist will support the work of REDA in its four key focus areas of Business Retention, New Enterprise & Emerging Business Development, New Business Development, and Marketplace Enhancements. Particularly important in this position will be an interest in fostering entrepreneurship and an interest and ability to find and analyze data to publish reports and respond to business requests.
In furthering the work of this alliance, this position will be responsible for supporting the Business Retention & Expansion program by organizing visits between businesses, Greater Mankato Growth, and our partner cities. This specialist will support entrepreneurs through serving as an organizer of the local 1 Million Cups community and by partnering with the Small Business Development Center. The specialist can support new business attraction by aiding responses to Requests For Proposals (RFPs) from businesses seeking expansion to our region.
This specialist will have the freedom to propose and implement new economic development strategies that align with the REDA Joint Service Agreement and Annual Workplan.
