ACTION ALERT
You'll see in the legislative update below that the House and Senate are moving their Omnibus Jobs bills through their respective bodies. We have been advocating for a business relief package that would support small businesses that were impacted by the recent federal immigration enforcement this session. The Senate is moving SF4535 which would create a $100 million forgivable loan program that would provide critical supports for small businesses. The House has not been able to move a similar package forward.
Please reach out to your state elected officials and urge them to support moving a package of supports for small businesses forward. It's worth talking with House and Senate members but most critical that House members know that this needs to be done this legislative session.
The 2026 Legislative Session is headed rapidly toward its May 18th adjournment date. This means long days/nights on the House and Senate floor moving Omnibus bills as members start to align and finalize bills. Once similar bills have passed the House and Senate floors, you'll see conference committees start to meet to hash out differences between the two bodies. Leadership also continues to work on final deals including striking a deal on a bonding package and agreeing on a potential tax bill. Expect those deals to materialize in the last days of the legislative session.
